Bex & Carena from Clique
When sisters Carena and Bex launched Clique, it wasn’t just about tights (though their cult following might say otherwise). It was about movement in every sense: body, mindset, and doing good while looking good (hello, recycled bottles). What began as a small idea quickly became something bigger: a community built on confidence, connection and that feel-good energy you get from wearing something that just works. Fitting, then, that their namesake — Clique — has become exactly that: a circle of women moving through life together.
So when we caught up with the duo, we talked winter rituals (the kind that warm you from the inside out), sisterhood, and how building something meaningful has grown into more than just a brand, but a place where people feel like they belong.

Hot girl walk, reformer class, or living room stretch… what’s your current go-to to move?
Carena
At the moment it’s at home pilates for me as getting time to go to a gym around commuting, work and school pick ups is a bit of a nightmare! I have always loved a reformer class however, and I have a big Clydesdale cross horse called Chunky. I’m not riding at the moment because I’m pregnant but he’s not going anywhere!
Bex
Vinyasa, Ashtanga, Hot yoga are all top of my list, as well as hot girl walks up Mt Eden or along Westhaven Marina with my flatmate and her dog. I’m very keen to get back into weight training this winter too.

Your workout song is…
Carena
It changes all the time to be honest but right at this very moment it would probably be Sympathy is a knife featuring Ariana Grande by Charli xcx.
Bex
Fake ID by Riton, Kah-Lo.
Winter rituals for you look like…
Carena
Mostly Being cozy at home watching movies with cups of tea! If I’m lucky a fresh morning walk on the beach in Whangamata with the family
Bex
I have a hot chocolate every night made with cacao, almond milk, maca root, cinnamon and honey. I love snuggling on the couch to watch all the new shows and cooking delicious food with my partner!

A moment recently that reminded you why you started?
Carena
Our pink ribbon lunch, where our community came together to raise funds for the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation. It’s sharing events like these with our community that helps me to remember why we work so hard!
Bex
Being in our studio and meeting our customers in person is always a highlight for me! I love having a chat and getting to know why and how they came about the brand.
If you could do a workout with anyone (past or present), who would it be?
Carena
I’d love to do something like an original Suzanne Sommers Aerobics class- including the outfits!
Bex
Arnold Schwarzenegger in 1973
