Shop Swimwear

Because swimwear shouldn't only work in water. Our swimwear can be styled with linen pants, a skirt or shorts — pool in the morning, happy hour by five, and not an outfit change in sight. Togs or top, you decide.

Swimwear at Max

Our swimwear is built around one idea: a one-piece shouldn’t only work at the beach. Square neck and ribbed shapes in black, cacao and gingham, cut to swim in and designed to look deliberate with clothes over the top.

One Pieces That Work Beyond the Pool

A one-piece is the only piece of swimwear you can treat as a garment rather than underwear. Pull linen pants over the top and it reads as a bodysuit. Add a maxi skirt and it’s a two-piece outfit. With shorts it’s a weekend. That’s the whole argument for buying a good one rather than a cheap one: you’ll wear it on days you never get in the water.

How to Style a One Piece

Start with the waistband. A high-rise linen pant or a longer skirt covers the leg line and makes the swimsuit read as a top — that’s the version that works at a café or a bar. For something more relaxed, shorts and a sarong keep it closer to the beach. A linen shirt worn open over the top is the easiest cover-up there is, and it doubles as sun protection in the middle of the day. Flat sandals for daytime, a slide or a wedge if you’re going on somewhere.
