Lovely cardigan but pills badly and looks old

This cardigan is really comfy and looks great for the first one or two wears. But then starts to pill all over the body and sleeves and looks older than it is. Kinda disappointing for $250. I’ve tried removing the pills too and it just doesn’t look great.
